In collaboration with repentance and faith, people officially become Christians and publicly declare their decision to follow Jesus before their friends, family and the Church. This is done in obedience to Christ’s commission, in Matthew 28:19, to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.
